Xu Moran was born in Jiangsu Province, China in 1957. He is a National First Class Artist, a Vice Chairman of the China Litterateurs and Artists Joint Association, an Adviser to the World Artists Association in Canada, and an Adviser to the China Culture and Art Research Institute. There are real international auction prices for his works. His productions are rich and varied and his art presentations are broad. He carries on the traditions of Chinese painting with his own unique interpretation, and is liked by people of all tastes. He has participated in provincial and higher level calligraphy and painting contests inside and outside of China, winning prizes many times. He was named one of the “Ten Greatest Artists in China” in 2001 and a “Famous Artist of Calligraphy and Painting in China” in 2005.
