Liu Wenshun was born in Qingyuan, Hebei Province, China in 1972. He is a member of the China Contemporary Calligraphy and Painting Famous Experts Association, an Artist of the China Zhongnanhai National Present Center, a First Class Artist of China, a member of the Hebei Province Research Center for Chinese Paintings, and an Academician of the Beijing Contemporary Famous Masters of Calligraphy and Painting Institute. He is focused on carp and bird-and-flower paintings, but also practices landscape paintings. His painting style is such that the brush strokes move about widely with an unbridled energy, but with a touch that is fresh, new, and elegant. The strokes have a thick and heavy color tone and are painted in a steady hand, yet they give an impression of spaciousness, agility, and grandiosity. His techniques are seasoned and built on a solid foundation. Many of his artworks have been entered into and won prizes from major competitions and exhibitions inside China, and have been collected by the Zhongnanhai National Present Center and other national organizations in China as well as international friends.
Captivated Among the Green Lotuses shows the leisure and splendor of the fish as well as the beauty of nature, giving the viewers an aesthetic enjoyment.
