There are real international auction prices for his works. He is especially adept at painting carp, bird-and-flower, and landscapes in fine brushwork. He held a painting exhibit in Singapore in 1998 and was named “the Disseminator of Traditional Chinese Art and Culture” by the Department of Culture of the Singapore Government, receiving rave reviews. His artworks are collected by friends in many countries, including Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, and Germany. He has attended national exhibits and won prizes and awards many times in China.

The brushwork of Nine Fish is precise, with a focus on realistic representation. The fish look so real that they seem to come alive in the painting with their fins and tails swaying. His techniques of painting from life inherit the methods used in the bird-and-flower paintings from the Royal Court School of Painting in the Song Dynasty. The aesthetic image makes the entire picture appear classic and elegant amidst the tone of color.
